Additional information
The pieces in the Lunaria Collection are created using silver metal clay, which is ‘sculptured’ and then fired to reveal pure fine (999) silver. A fine foil of 24ct gold has then been applied using a technique known as ‘Keum Boo’ which uses heat to bond the gold onto the silver. Unlike the other pieces in this collection, these earrings do not represent the traditional ‘moon’ shape of the honesty seedpod, but rather reflect a more organic shape inspired by some seedpods I collected during a walk in the woods. The silver and gold have been layered to achieve the rather haphazard patterns found in nature.
The earring hooks are are handmade from sterling silver.
Measurements
This pair of drop earrings measures approximately 12mm across with a drop from the base of the earring hook of just over 12mm.
Sustainability
Silver metal clay is a sustainable medium. It is most often created from recycled silver particles, which minimizes the environmental impact of fresh mining. There is no waste when working with silver metal clay - every particle and speck of dust is collected and reconstituted into clay to be used again and again.
Delivery
There is no delivery charge for orders totalling over £100. These are sent Royal Mail Special Delivery and will be with you by 1pm the day after posting. For all other orders, there is a flat rate of £3.50 for delivery. If your order is £50 and over (but under £100) your jewellery will similarly be sent to you by the Special Delivery service. Orders under £50 are sent by Royal Mail 1st class and will need a signature.
